Speaker - David Blake - Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services

David will be speaking on the financial exploitation of vulnerable adults, touching on the problem, Georgia law specific to these types of crimes, and the role of the different agencies that respond such as law enforcement and adult protective services.

David is a Financial Forensic Specialist with the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Aging Services Forensic Special Initiatives Unit (FSIU). David served with the DeKalb County Department of Public Safety Bureau of Police Services from 1981-2002 investigating organized crime/white-collar crime and from 2002 to 2010 with the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office as the Deputy Chief Investigator over the White Collar Crime Elder Exploitation and Paralegal. In 2010 David retired from law enforcement and joined the GA DHS. David is an Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) Certified Economic Crimes Forensic Examiner (CECFE), an International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) Certified Electronic Evidence Collection Specialist (CEECS), a State of Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.) Certified Instructor, and a co-developer of and a principal instructor for the At-Risk Adult Crime Tactics (ACT) Specialist certification course.
